Flat Earth: Laser Experiment (Pre-test) -

This laser measurement was just a pre-test of an experiment we are planning to in the next few days. It was done in the lake Balaton in Hungary, the distance was 5kms (3.1 miles):

We didn’t use the material that we’re going to use in the next experiment but here is the specification

These are the coordinates of the Laser and Camera: 46.949196, 17.889195

Camera: Canon 760d camera + Canon 100-400 F4.5-5.6 IS L USM optics + Canon 2X MK III extender

Laser: High power outdoor events laser with Built-in scanner – Without Collimator.

Boat dimensions: 2 meter x 1 meter (6.6 feet x 3.3 feet) white plastic attached to the boat to capture the laser beam. Filmed by a Sony 30x zoom HD camera + an Iphone camera.

The calibration was done with the laser scanner at a distance between 100 meters and 2km.

The Laser was exactly 50cm above the lake’s surface.

The weather was standard with 28 Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) light a light breeze, 60% humidity and water temperature 24 Celsius (75 Fahrenheit).
